Your September Astrology Forecast

Kindred Spirit astrologer Demian Allan reveals what’s written in the stars for September 2023

  The next three months are influenced by retrograde motion in the sky, with Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all going backwards at some point. This can create a sense of repeated cycles, or of things not progressing in the direction that we would like them to. However, retrogrades can also bring a sense of stepping back, and of being collectively objective in what needs to change. On 16 September Mercury moves forward again in the sky, and just before that, on 4 September, Venus does the same. This should make September a busy month for all of us, with lots happening in a short space of time.   Notable Astrological Dates  ✧ 4 September - Venus goes direct / Jupiter goes retrograde ✧ 15 September - New moon in Virgo ✧29 September - Full moon in Aries       Aries  Your ruler Mars is transiting in your opposite zodiac sign, Libra. This puts the focus this month on relationships, and on compromise when it comes to considering the opinions of others. Being an Aries, you might find that you need to employ more diplomacy in your usual direct communication style, especially in regard to the feelings of others.     Taurus On 4 September your planetary ruler Venus moves direct, ending the retrograde motion it has been making since late July. This is a powerful, direct change that means you can begin to be much more forward-thinking in your approach to planning projects, especially when it comes to the home and property.     Gemini You have to contend with a Mercury retrograde until 16 September, when it moves direct in your solar 4th house, ruling the home and family. This month is about self-care and how you take time away from the strains and stresses of the world. Saturn is also moving backwards in your 10th house, representing your career and work pursuits – be on guard for slight delays.       Cancer How you get your ideas across to others will be key during the next four weeks, as you seek to improve your communication skills. This can be achieved by recognising your capacity to intuitively understand the needs of others – once you realise this, your ideas can start to take real form in any projects that you want to create and earn from.     Leo The financial area of your life needs your attention this month, with the sun and Mercury both travelling in your solar 2nd house. However, Mercury is retrograde until 16 September, so any major money decisions should be left until after then – once the retrograde ends, you might have a more logical and less emotional take on your finances.     Virgo For the first part of this month, your ruler Mercury is moving backwards in the sky in your own sign. This can complicate things somewhat, and you might find yourself trying to do several things at once. Virgos have the capacity to adapt, but with a Mercury retrograde to contend with, you might find yourself getting tied up in metaphorical knots.     Libra Your ruler Venus moves forward from 4 September in your solar 11th house, which affects groups and friendships. This is a month in which you begin to move away from the dramas and anxieties of others, which have been dominating your mind since the summer. Space is being created for you to turn your attention inwards, towards yourself and your own needs.       Scorpio Your traditional ruler Mars is travelling in your 12th house, which concerns hidden enemies and the subconscious – this is a placement that can lead to some confusion as to your own internal motivations. However, it can also be spiritually gratifying, as you seek unity with something that transcends beyond the ordinary.   Sagittarius On 5 September your planetary ruler Jupiter begins to move backwards in the sky, which can disrupt plans, or even put them on hold entirely, until the end of the year. However, on 4 September Venus moves forward in your solar 9th house, associated with travel, publishing and spirituality. This could be a period of significant new personal insights.     Capricorn Your ruler Saturn is still moving backwards in your solar 3rd house – the area of communication and learning – but this doesn’t mean that you should step away from those activities. Instead, try to plan ahead. Mars is activating your 10th house, which rules over career matters, offering a newfound self-confidence when it comes to making decisions for the future.   Aquarius Your modern ruler, Uranus, is still in retrograde in your solar 4th house. This is the position of the home, family, and property in general. Be aware that you can expect delays to crop up around any plans you might have had concerning the home environment.     Pisces Both of your rulers, Jupiter and Neptune, are retrograding this month. You may well experience a sense of déjà vu when it comes to your outlook and responses to situations. This month, you will be taught lessons that are already within you – you know deep within you that life has many ebbs and flows.
