Ego

by Inna Segal Our I or ego relates us to the human kingdom; it is what makes us individuals; there is no other I exactly like you. The animals don’t have an individual ego; they have a group ego working down upon them from the astral world. The magical word I is the wonderful high-level word of soul, which makes us independent beings. You can only be an I to yourself; the other is a you. In this very small word lies great depths of possibility for the evolution of our soul. With a strong sense of I we become the masters of our selves and our lower impulses. The ego or I can use thinking to penetrate into the lower bodies and spiritualise them. The ego in the hidden mystery circles has been portrayed as having the quality of the double-edged sword. One side is the hardening egotist (this is when the astral body hardens the I and engulfs it.) Egotists only care about their own comfort and desires and mostly focus on having material possessions and getting what they want no matter the impact. They want to own the biggest house on the biggest piece of land, have the most expensive and beautiful clothes, furniture, cars, yachts, planes and party it up, with little care that a huge part of the world live in poverty, struggle and are in constant pain. They also don’t care who they use or hurt in their pursuit of pleasure and comfort. The other side of the sword is the softening into our inner journey which awakens the divine drop of the Godhead that we each have within us – our higher self. We can use our I to awaken our spirit and continue to progress on our journey of evolution, or we can allow our desire for luxuries, comfort and indolence to stifle it. The stronger our I is, the more capable we become of the highest levels of transformation, healing and awakening.
