‘All you need is Love’ we are told, but how much love do we really have in our lives? If we are fortunate we have a partner who gives us companionship and intimacy, we have friends who provide fun and laughter and children who deliver sweetness and innocence. If life is good we have a job that feeds our enthusiasm, we have hobbies and interests that expand our horizons, and an income that gives precious freedom. All the boxes are ticked. All you need is Love – and we have it.
But to assume this is the peak experience of Love is to underestimate the treasure that lies hidden in each and every one of us. There is a secret within that is waiting to be unlocked. The devotional saints throughout history speak of a Love that is all consuming. It rises above states of pain and pleasure, joy and sorrow. It does not depend on relationships, it has no reason or season. No other worldly experience compares to it. Mira Bai the 16 th century poet saint declares: ‘Unbreakable, O Lord, Is the Love that binds me to You, Like a diamond it breaks the hammer that strikes it.. Like the bird that gazes all night at the passing moon, I have lost myself dwelling in You!’ The devotional teachers of the east and west tell us that Love is not just an emotional exchange with something or someone, it is the very core of who we are.
The question is whether such a Love is real and if it is, can it be attained? Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda has come to emphatically answer this question. He is a spiritual Master who is the very embodiment of this Divine Love. He travels the world giving Himself freely to thousands of people. His entire life is dedicated to showing people the way to true happiness within, independent of the world. Seeing Him in action, people from all walks of life have finally received the tangible experience they have long been seeking. He shows that Divinity is not merely philosophical speculation or fantasy, it is an actual reality that can be known by one and all.
Rooted in the ancient Bhakti (devotional) traditions, Paramahamsa Vishwananda’s message of Love breaks down barriers of division and dogma. Whether one believes in God, whether one is earnestly seeking or simply curious, there is no qualification or requirement to receive what He has come to give. Paramahamsa Vishwananda often points out that the mind judges and differentiates, it condemns and extols. Its rigid ideas incessantly plunge us into difficulty. The heart, however, places no conditions or expectation on anything. It accepts, and opens us to the beauty in everyone and ourselves. When we live from the heart, we are relieved of the limitation and baggage of the mind – this is what the Darshan experience is all about.
Darshan is an opportunity to be in the presence of Paramahamsa Vishwananda and receive His direct blessing. In an atmosphere charged with joyous devotional singing, people from all around the world gather to receive this unique gift. It is utterly transformative. It calms the turbulence of the mind and removes the barriers to the heart. Wounds of negativity and past experiences begin to heal. It is a time where we understand what it means to live with real meaning and purpose. It lifts the veil which hides the secret treasure within. Darshan is where we come home to ourselves, to our true nature – to this Divine Love.
Open your heart and Love. Show who you truly are. Have this deep will of realising God. Have this deep will of realising who you are. You will have it. Let Love be the ultimate goal of your life. – Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda.
